Our First Lady



     Cynthia E. Fearbry was born and reared in Montgomery, AL in a spiritual family environment,Sister Cynthia E. Fearbry the 11th of 12 children. Although there was not much money to spread around, there were strong moral values and determination to survive. She was educated in the public school system and graduated from Robert E. Lee Senior High School in May 1973.

     Sis. Fearbry has been employed with the Georgia Department of Labor 9½ years and is currently an Employment Marketing Representative. Previously, for 20 years, she was a civilian working with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) with duty stations in Montgomery, AL, Columbus, MS, Pittsburgh, PA and Savannah, GA. Her employment background is in Human Resources including 9 years as Human Resources Manager. She has taken many leadership, supervisory and management courses. She is professionally polished.

     Sis. Fearbry attended Troy State University, Maxwell AFB, AL extension and East Mississippi Junior College. She received a Master in Religious Education from Covington Theological Seminary in August 2002.

     She is happily married for sixteen years to Dr. Frederick A. Fearbry. Together they have four children and three grandchildren.

     Sis. Fearbry received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on the second Sunday in May 1984. She is an active member of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as adult Sunday school teacher for Women of Wisdom, Class #2-Ages 35 and over, Coordinator of Women with Purpose Ministries embracing 4 outreach ministries to youth and young adult females at Hope House of Savannah, Juvenile Justice-Regional Youth Detention Center, Greenbriar Children's Center and to girls and boys at the Ronald McDonald House. She is the Chaplin of Education and Information Ministry and currently, assistant teacher in adult Bible Study. In the past, she has taught Sunday school for teens; she has sung alto in various choirs, participated in street evangelistic appeals, served as Director of Youth Ministry and served as Coordinator of New Members Orientation.

     Sis. Fearbry is passionately involved in the National Congress of Christian Education and the Sunday School Publishing Board. In this capacity, she is enrolled in the Certificate of Progress Program (COPP), and she has completed COPP courses #2099A-D, Principles and Procedures for Deans of Christian Education. She has been a 1st District of Georgia Congress of Christian Education Workshop Facilitator for the course Teaching for Better Results. For the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia-Congress of Christian Education, she is certified to teach the Role of the Minister's Wife. For the Berean Missionary Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education, she is certified to teach Survey of Romans. For the Second Arnold Leadership School, she is certified to teach Survey of Romans and Synoptic Gospels. She has also conducted workshops entitled Deaconesses, Minister's Wife, and Teaching for Better Results for Sunday school teachers. She is a subscriber and avid reader of The Informer Christian magazine.

     Additionally, Sis. Fearbry has facilitated several workshops throughout the church community in Savannah, GA to include: Citywide Mission - Mountain of Transfiguration, Making the Right Choices for youth and young adult, and for Pastor's Aide Ministries.

     Sis. Fearbry is currently working to complete her certification through a Dean Internship (February-March 2007), under the supervision of Dean Betty West at the Berean Congress of Christian Education/ Bryant Theological Seminary, Savannah, GA extension. Thankful's First Lady has a thirst for knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her laboring for souls prevails.
