Pastor Frederick Fearbry

     Frederick Fearbry was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 18, 1953.  He is the eldest and first-born son of Fannie Deloris Wilson-Fearbry.  He was educated in the Pittsburgh public school system, graduating from Perry High School in June 1972.  He is married to Cynthia E. Fearbry.  

     Pastor Fearbry was licensed to preach on June 30th 1972 and ordained in July 1973.  Pastor Fearbry's ministry spans over 34 years, with 27 years in active pastoral ministry.

     His educational background includes the Community College of Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the American Baptist Theological Seminary-Pittsburgh Extension at Ebenezer Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. J. Van Alfred Winsett and Dr. Eugene Roberts.  He received the Certificate of Completion from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for successful completion of a three year certificate program Black Pastor's Resource Seminar under Dean David T. Shannon.  He studied Theology at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, and is a 1997 graduate of Covington Theological Seminary at Rossville, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Ministry Degree.  In 2001 and in 2002 he received the Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Studies from Covington Theological Seminary.  On December 5, 2002, Dr. Fearbry completed the Pastor's Alternative Teacher Program in Nashville, Tennessee from the Sunday School Publishing Board NBC, USA, Inc.

     Pastor Fearbry is an educator.  He has taught Old Testament at Bryant Theological Seminary in Savannah, Georgia Extension of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia.  He is a certified Instructor of the National Baptist Sunday School Publishing Board and a workshop lecturer and teacher on stewardship and the Holy Spirit.  

     Pastor Fearbry is also currently holding the following denominational positions:  

     In 1999 Pastor Fearbry was called to be the shepherd of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, Savannah, Georgia.  Under his direction Thankful has experienced tremendous growth, both spiritually and numerically.  At Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Fearbry is a teacher and builder of lives dedicated to Christ.  His evangelistic appeal reaches over 100,000 homes through television ministry within the Savannah community.  From 1999 to 2006 more than 600 people have been added to the church family.  Thankful is a church bursting at the seams in terms of finding a place for our growing classes for Sunday School and Bible Discovery Hour.  He has plans to start a certified Christian Leadership School in an effort to train our teachers and our ministers for the work of the Lord.
