
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying.” Revelation 21:4 KJV
WHEREAS, on November 28, 2009, God in His infinite wisdom and divine love, called from our midst our Devoted Pastor, Master Teacher, Committed Evangelist, Dr. Frederick Alan Fearbry, we bow in humble submission to the will of God to share in his passing; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Fearbry, having served as an innovative and resolute leader of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, for ten years, since his installation on April 3, 1999; and
WHEREAS, as Pastor, he initiated numerous “firsts” at Thankful, including hiring the first full-time church secretary, licensing the first female minister, performing the first public catechization of deacons and ministers, establishing the first official church logo, the first formal Bible Discovery Hour for adults and youth, the first weekly Television Broadcast entitled “Give God the Glory”, the first Internet Website, and the first designation as a 501 © 3 corporation under the Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, as Pastor, he ordained and licensed numerous deacons and ministers, and led in the harvesting of hundreds of souls, along with establishing ministries that meet every age and gender, and conducting outreach to troubled youth, the homeless, the hungry and the down-trodden; and
WHEREAS, not only did he provide for spiritual growth of his flock, but he also increased real estate ownership for future growth with the forward plan to designate the current church property as “Thankful Square”; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Fearbry led in the establishment of Thankful’s Annual Christian Leadership School in 2007, certified by the Sunday School Publishing Board, with the placement of a nationally certified dean and teachers along with fully accredited courses; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Fearbry represented Thankful on the local and state levels, having served as First Vice Moderator of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association, President of the First District Congress of Christian Education of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia and Nationally Certified Instructor of the State and Regional Congress of Christian Education; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That Pastor Fearbry’s loving spirit and pastoral leadership will be greatly missed, but we are so mindful that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May the lives that he touched be like seeds that will grow and flourish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, First, that the church has lost a faithful and valuable leader; second, that we shall treasure the memory of his life among us; and, third, that a copy of this resolution be given to the family and copy placed in our file for our record.
